Hi there. Thanks for wanting to know more about me and my work.

See more of my work on my Etsy store!

The creative process allows me to slow down, listen to life’s stories, beauty, humor, questions and give as honest a response as I can muster. It's a push and pull between discovery and direction, control and release, the integration of mistakes into masterpieces...much as life is. I feel more human when I make things, more aware of how strange and wonderful it is to be alive, more grateful. I hope my work can offer a piece of that wonder to you as well.

You can often find glimpses of the palette, wilderness and sometimes hints of kitsch from Florida’s gulf coast in my work, where I first fell in love with art making and the sun-kissed, gypsy Floridian artists I met wandering through outdoor art fairs as a child... I was enchanted walking through booth after booth filled with snowy egrets, great blue herons and gentle manatees all the while serenaded by wafting Jimmy Buffet songs. Perhaps also because I was born with the surname "Herron", I've felt a special kinship with those dinosaur-like creatures and by extension, have a particularly strong fascination with our familial bonds to the natural world. Mary Oliver's poem Wild Geese often enters my mind as a mantra "Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, / the world offers itself to your imagination, / calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting— / over and over announcing your place / in the family of things"
